Business Performance Improvement

For Prospect Consulting, the success and sustainability of any business process improvement initiative is naturally dependent on the capability of your organisation to manage its people, its processes and its systems. From our experience it is no use improving something if you cannot manage to sustain the improvement. Likewise, the ongoing management of something must include the ability to improve it. In a similar fashion if your employees are not engaged in that improvement from the early stages then your ability to align them to wider organisational goals will not be successful.

For us, business process improvements are typically projects that are started through the identification of a defined performance gap and implied in our undertaking of any process improvement project are four key assumptions:

  • That people are engaged with the project initiative in the first place and aligned to its outcomes.
  • That we use a consistent, broad based process improvement methodology that seeks first to understand your organisational environment and the current ‘AS-IS” process status.
  • That you are left with the ability to sustain the process improvements once the projects have been completed.
  • That you are given organisational capability to continually measure, monitor and report on business performance to identify project improvement initiatives in the first place.

These assumptions are naturally interlinked but need to be reviewed and consistently managed if any improvement efforts are to be genuinely sustained.
