Leadership Development & Coaching
Prospect bases its Leadership development programs on the fundamental premise that a person needs to know and manage themselves before they can effectively lead others. Our basic philosophy is outlined below:
- Understand my role in a team/crew environment
- Understand how I can contribute to the business
Underpinning these areas are the following fundamental principles of focus:
- I can work free from harm at all times
- I can support my team to work free from harm at all times
- Decisions I make impact directly on the bottom line
- I can help my team be aware of the impact the decisions they make have on the business
- I can take personal accountability for my own decisions and actions independent of activities and behaviours I see around me
- I need to effectively communicate regularly with those I work with
Thinking and acting on behalf of the whole business and not just my area helps to build a successful organisation
Some examples of Leadership Modules within our programs include:
- Locus of Control
- Emotional Intelligence
- Situational leadership
- Above and Below the Line Leadership
- Negotiation
- Conflict management
- Communication
- Influencing/motivating
Part of creating effective leaders is by using performance coaching. Today’s highly competitive business environment demands that individuals and companies perform at higher levels and with greater speed than at any time in the past. To do this requires a radically different response – a transformation in the way individuals think and act in relationship to work. Rapid responses to the change in the marketplace require continual advances in knowledge within the organisation.
At Prospect we believe that coaching can help individuals manage this speed of change. We realise that organisational change begins with the individual and, if approached correctly, coaching is a highly effective method for releasing people’s performance potential. Like the athletic coach, the work based coach helps individuals draw out the highest levels of performance from themselves and others, partnering with them to build capabilities and ensure long term business success
Our emphasis is on performance enhancement and professional development aligned with the goals, values and priorities of the organisation. For us, the product of the coaching process is learning, action and change. The individual develops an action plan with measurable, observable results and a strategy to achieve the contracted desired outcomes.
